Endocrine strategy for healthy and slow aging
Day 1, Thursday, April 9, 14:30-16:00 / Room 3 Overview
This Special Interest Group (Endocrine R&D Networking Study Group) symposium focuses on “Endocrine Strategy for Healthy and Slow Aging,” aiming to provide an integrated view of the endocrine mechanisms underlying aging and potential therapeutic approaches. Prof. Kwang Joon Kim (Yonsei University) will present a comprehensive overview of endocrine disorders associated with aging. Dr. Ken-ichi Takayama (Tokyo Metropolitan Institute for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Japan) will discuss the mechanistic roles of androgen and estrogen signaling in preventing aging and age-related diseases. Finally, Prof. Ok Hee Jeon (Korea University) will highlight the role of circulating senescent cell–derived progeronic factors in musculoskeletal aging. This session will offer valuable insights into endocrine-driven aging processes and future intervention strategies.

Chairpersons : Eun Jig Lee (Hanaro Medical Foundation, Korea), Sihoon Lee (Gachon University, Korea)

14:30-15:00 Endocrine burden and frailty in elderly Kwang Joon Kim (Yonsei University, Korea)
15:00-15:30 Mechanistic roles of androgen and estrogen signaling to prevent aging and age-related diseases Ken-ichi Takayama (Tokyo Metropolitan Institute for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Japan)
15:30-16:00 Circulating senescent cells–derived progeronic factors in musculoskeletal aging Ok Hee Jeon (Korea University, Korea)

Senescence in endocrine & metabolic disorders “part 2. systemic integration (Integrative biology of aging)”
Day 1, Thursday, April 9, 14:30-16:00 / Room 4 Overview
This session will provide a multi-dimensional perspective on translating basic senescence mechanisms into holistic therapeutic strategies for cardiometabolic health. Dr. Hu will discuss how muscle-derived metabolites and proteins orchestrate sarcopenia, while Dr. Kim will define the early aging-associated niches in the liver using a quasi-spatial single-cell transcriptomic approach. Dr. Hsiao will present novel immunotherapeutic vaccination strategies targeting cardiometabolic diseases

Chairpersons : Jeong Hyun Park (Inje University, Korea), Seok Won Park (Yonsei University, Korea)

14:30-15:00 Muscle stem cells function as metabolic Trojan horse fueling systemic aging by succinate induced epigenetic reprogramming Ping Hu (Guangzhou Laboratory, China)
15:00-15:30 Quasi-spatial single-cell transcriptome based on physical tissue properties defines early aging associated niche in liver Chuna Kim (Korea Research Institute of Bioscience & Biotechnology, Korea)
15:30-16:00 Targeting cellular senescence through immunotherapeutic vaccination: A novel strategy for age-related cardiometabolic diseases Chieh-Lun Hsiao (Juntendo University, Japan)

(Korean Endocrine Rare Disease Study Group(KERDS))
Advanced and malignant endocrine diseases: From functional tumors to rare malignancies
Day 1, Thursday, April 9, 16:30-18:00 / Room 3 Overview
The Special Interest Group for Rare Endocrine Diseases will host a session focusing on rare but clinically significant malignant tumors. Prof. Jung Soo Lim will introduce clinical approaches to adrenocortical carcinoma, and Prof. Dong-Jun Lim is expected to discuss the complexities and treatment limitations of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma. Finally, Prof. Seiji Fukumoto will explore the intersection of bone metabolism and endocrine diseases through the study of rare malignancies causing TIO. We hope this session serves as a meaningful platform to discuss the future of rare endocrine cancer management.

Chairpersons : Sin-Gon Kim (Korea University, Korea), Soo Heon Kwak (Seoul National University, Korea)

16:30-17:00 Adrenocortical carcinoma: Clinical challenges and future direction Jung Soo Lim (Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine, Korea)
17:00-17:30 Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma: Challenges and future directions Dong-Jun Lim (The Catholic University of Korea, Korea)
17:30-18:00 Toward better care for rare malignant endocrine tumors causing TIO Seiji Fukumoto (Tamaki-Aozora Hospital, Japan)

(Korean Thyroid Study Group)
Recent advances in management of thyroid nodules and cancers
Day 1, Thursday, April 9, 16:30-18:00 / Room 4 Overview
The landscape of thyroid cancer treatment is shifting toward risk-stratified precision medicine. In this session, we will share multicenter data on serum Tg cut-off levels for post-operative management in low-to-intermediate risk groups and discuss clinical strategies for active surveillance during pregnancy. Additionally, we will delve into the role of the tumor microenvironment in overcoming treatment resistance in advanced stages. We invite you to join us for an insightful overview of the evolving paradigms, spanning the entire spectrum from low-risk management to high-risk therapeutic interventions.

Chairpersons : Ho-Cheol Kang (Chonnam National University, Korea), Yun Jae Chung (Chung-Ang University, Korea)

16:30-17:00 Thyroglobulin cutoffs after total thyroidectomy without radioiodine in low-to intermediate-risk thyroid cancer: A multicenter cohort study Mijin Kim (Pusan National University, Korea)
17:00-17:30 Management of low-risk papillary thyroid microcarcinoma via active surveillance during pregnancy Min Ji Jeon (University of Ulsan, Korea)
17:30-18:00 The tumor microenvironment and therapeutic response to targeted therapies in thyroid cancer Carmelo Nucera (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, USA)
